I don't know where this came from Emily but I had seen the post title several times on my netvibes and did not want to click into it because I never felt like I had the time to dedicate to a post which I figured was long and opinionated. Now I have read it several times and have 10 minutes with nothing to do.
You think CA is bad, you haven't seen the Utah teachers. They spend all day reading their sibling's blogs and making sarcastic and devastating remarks to their students in attempt to cover up their own educational shortcomings. I am, of course, speaking specifically about Isaac.
Anyway, Lily, inadvertently, helped me with my title. Yesterday she, Canyon, and Alice were playing outside close to bedtime and I gave them the five minute warning. Immediately Lily began bargaining: "Come on, ten more minutes!" Me, "Five." Lily, "Seven." Me, "Five." Lily, "Six." Me, "Zero." Lily, "Fine, five more minutes." She left with a huff and as she SLAMMED the door, she commented under her breath, very loudly, "I can't believe I only have 300 seconds to play outside!" So that's it, all I need for this blog is 300 seconds a week (maybe more, maybe less).

Em, just look on the bright side, your kids won't need to be in sp.ed. in High School. Some of those teachers made sucky look good.
I feel your pain. AZ education has been in 50th place in the USA. Love it here, but hate the education system.

I know the feeling. We're scraping the bottom of the barrel in Mississippi. I can't wait till my son finishes. Two more years. Just two more years.
ahem. An across the board spending cut isn't going to help, either. I'm just sayin'.
Very persuasive argument. I can't help but agree with you.

Maybe you should move home...although I'm not sure things are better here! Are you coming for the holidays?
