February in Northern California.

My running buddy. She carries my water and phone and keeps a kick-ass pace.

This post is not meant to make you feel bad, those of you who live in colder climes. It’s just an honest representation of the happiness this time of year makes me feel.

Like John Steinbeck said of this place, it feels like spring six months of the year.

We have reached it. Our six-month spring. The blossoms are blooming, the oranges are sweet and cold, the chickens are laying, and the hills—despite the dry year—are finally shading green.

We spend as much time outside as possible. Riding bikes, working in the yard, soaking the sun.

*sigh* California…it’s like a magic word.

Also, here's another sampling of our family pictures: I'm so happy with them! What do you think?

Maybe you really didn't mean to make anyone feel bad. But you did. Who did your pictures? (they are great)

Love that one. Mind it if I hang it in my house? Might be a little awkward to hang another family's pictures. But still.

This picture is even better than the rest. Wish I was there to run with you.

I look forward to this post every year. It's the time of year I try to convince Isaac to move to Livermore.

Your pictures are great! You should be so glad you got some you love. I swear I only love our pictures every five years or so, so to get some you love....lucky!
I'm so jealous of your weather...we've had a very mild winter, but I would love six months of spring, instead of our 6 days!

That's a great family shot! Olan Mills could never do that.

Is that your orchard?

Yes, California can be a perpetual spring. I miss San Diego, though. Sigh.

You should eat those children before they get too tough.
